To make white gold, rhodium is used in a thin layer on top of the gold alloy. This process of plating creates large quantities of acids and noxious byproducts that must be discarded.
To make pink gold, copper is added to give the red coloration to the gold alloy. Unfortunately, when in contact with oxygen, copper badly and quickly tarnishes. Rose gold rings become black and your skin turns greenish.
All our pieces are handmade in our workshop in Jaipur, India, using only 18 karat recycled yellow gold. Our planet is more important than more profit.
